20 weeks

Yesterday, I hit 20 weeks.  I am more than half way now!  I am most definitely feeling pregnant now.  I have to sleep on my side to be comfortable (I am normally a 100 % back sleeper, so I always dislike giving that up).  My number one craving for this pregnancy so far is BROWNIES!!!!  And normally, I am not crazy about brownies or chocolate in general.  So, this baby's middle name is probably 'Sugar'.  I have been having heartburn which I never had with my others... that isn't much fun.  But other then that, All is well!  It really surprised me when they said the placenta was in the front, because I feel lots of kicks.  G was even able to feel a kick the other night already!

19 week Ultrasound

I got an ultrasound done today, and it was really neat to see the baby! It always makes it a little more real when you can see the hands and feet and the cute little head.  One thing we got to learn about our little one though is that he/she likes privacy!  The baby kept it's arms around it's face and it's little legs closed the entire time, so we weren't able to find out the gender.
At first I was disappointed,  I was looking forward to telling the kids and to help prepare them more for what's coming. But, we didn't find out with Quincey and I remember how much fun it was to find out the old fashioned way, so I guess a few more months won't kill us.  Maybe I will have to go back for another ultrasound, and the baby will be be less private then.
Quincey and Maiya were very fascinated by the Ultrasound.  And Quincey became really kind of giddy.  He had a hard time not smiling and giggling and telling us how much he loves us.  And when the tech put the heartbeat waves up on the screen, Quincey said, "And there is the babies sharp teeth!"  I love how sweet he is.  He has been taking care of me.  Asking if the baby needs some water, or if the baby needs to rest.
Here are the pictures!

The baby kept waving at us!  Hi Mom! Hi Dad!
cute little arms.
Stop taking pictures! I am trying to sleep ;)

Parade, Birthday, Baby, and Vegas Baby!!!!

It is about time to update!  Here are a couple of pictures from 4th of July.  We went and saw a parade in Bayfield with some of Geren's family, and then went to his Aunt's house and got to eat lots of yummy food.  The kids loved the 4th of July, and the fireworks.

It was Geren's 29th Birthday on Sunday and we had a great day.  He actually gave a talk in sacrament on his Birthday that brought people to tears (myself included).  After church the kids and I drew pictures for him to decorate the wall with. At this point, Q got the idea to give daddy a present, so he went to his room and grabbed a couple of his toys and gave them to him for his birthday.  So, then Maiya got in on the action and found the closest thing to her, Quincey's scriptures, and gave them to him for a present.  This went on for awhile.  Maiya also gave him one of Quincey's shoe, and a Wii remote, and Quincey kept getting more toys from his room, quite entertaining.  And Geren loved those presents, because they were so thoughtful.  ;)

The kids helped me make a German Chocolate Cake for Geren (that is his favorite).
I wanted to record that on July 9th I felt baby's first obvious movement. The next day (Geren's Birthday), I was feeling all of the acrobats and continue to do so. Sure makes it feel a lot more real! I feel like I didn't record these kind of things with my other pregnancies, and I wish I did! So, get ready for lots of details with this one.  I am 17 weeks today, and this is how I look (not too much different from 15 weeks, as expected ;)  My ultrasound is scheduled for Aug. 1st.  So, make sure you vote before then!  So far 6 people have guessed a girl and 1 has guessed a boy.  I wonder why everyone thinks I am having a girl. ;)

I am still feeling really good!  I sometimes forget I am pregnant, I have a lot of energy etc.  I do get kind of ravenous around sweets though (cakes, cookies, ice cream etc.) which definitely reminds me I am pregnant.

This Friday we are off to St. George to spend a couple of days with Geren's brother and his family.  Then we will head to Vegas so Geren can take his tax exam preparation classes.  The classes are M-W and the kids and I get to stay in the Hotel Suite and swim in this swimming pool.  I can't wait!!! :)

Butter Fiasco of 2011

I did already post these pics on facebook, but I wanted to put it on here to record for family history. Mostly so that I can show my kids how much they put me through when they were younger ;)
The kids got into my fridge and pulled out a 1/2 pound of butter and flicked it tiny pieces all over the room. Of course by the time I found it, it was melting all over the place! Not the easiest to clean, but we got it worked out.

15 week Belly Pics

Oh... so precious. ;) But seriously, I do think it's kinda fun to have the beginnings of a baby belly.

Here is me drawing focus to it.....

And here is me just standing there.....

And here is picture of my new haircut that I got today.

I am still feeling really good!  No nausea at all.  I don't know how I got so lucky, but I am thankful for it.  My next appointment is July 5th.  Only about another month until we find out what gender baby #3 will be.  I think I will put up a poll to see what your guesses are, those are always fun ;)

Quincey's Speech Appointment

Quincey did so good at his first speech appointment.  He loves it.  The first time we went they recorded him having a conversation with the therapist (who's name is Candy) and then she went back and counted all of the disfluencies that he had in that time.  He had 340 disfluencies in that 15 minutes. Now, no one always has 100% fluency in their speech, it is normal to say 'um' every once in awhile, etc. One thing that you don't see in normal speech though is blocking, when you are trying to say something and it won't come out.  He had 10 of those in the 15 min.  Crazy!!!  It is easy to see how we can both get so frustrated!
Candy sat him on her lap and held his hands as he leaned backward.  While he did this he practiced stretching his speech, and saying things longer and slower.  All of that going backwards right after breakfast started giving him hiccups though, so she stopped that.  Then she held up pictures of things and had him say the words slowly in a sentence ie: 'that is a xylophone'.  Then they played with trains and when he needed more track he needed to say, "More track please!"  "Thank you!" A lot of it is just getting him to recognize what is going on while he is speaking.  And if he starts to have 'bumpy' speech, she tells him to stop and start over again, and he does really well the second time.  So! So far so good.  We have another appointment tomorrow.

My Strawberry Model

The kids and I (especially Maiya) have been having so much fun having strawberries in our garden!  They both love to help me pick them, and eat them.  And Maiya loves to help me make stuff with them!!!!

My sister got me the Our Best Bites cookbook for my birthday, and I LOVE it!!!!  The have a recipe in there for Strawberry-lime shortcakes with coconut cream.  YES! it is as delightful as it sounds.  It is ingenious! Strawberry and lime are great together,.. coconut and lime are great together, and when you mix it altogether on the shortcake platform... heaven!!!!
Another strawberry thing that I have been enjoying is....
Fresh Strawberry Limade

And if we get sick of eating all of them....
Strawberry Freezer Jam
