The Sonic Hot Rod Needle

We are getting ready for our very much needed and well deserved (tax season has been pretty brutal this year) trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house this weekend, and my kids are so excited that they got all packed 2 days early! And since the suitcases were just sitting there, they decided to make a game out of them. This is a picture of their race car which they creatively named..."The Sonic Hot Rod Needle."
Man! Those sweet smiles makes me think we must be doing something right. (but looks can be deceiving.)
So, just a bit more about that comment I made about tax season.  For about 3 almost 4 weeks straight G was leaving here at 4 or 5 in the morning and getting home at 9 or 10 at night.  There were a lot of software problems that they were having.  Well, now his schedule is more like 7 to 7... much better.  Only one more month.  Whew!

Mr. Quincey

Right before I took this pic, Scooby was snuggling up to Q (they are best friends), which he does quite often, but our silly dog is camera shy.
My boy sure is growing up. He is loving Kindergarten and doing really great in his class.  Last month he won the 'Be a Buddy Not a Bully' Award at school. Which just proves that he has come along way compared to Preschool where if the opposite of that award existed, I am sure he would have received it. He has really become quite the peacemaker especially in dealing with his sister. (although he can be pretty good at disturbing the peace with her too.)

Quincey loves to laugh and tell jokes and to make people smile.  He has also come along way in his patience with himself.  At the beginning of the school year, he would try once at something and then give up and say it was good enough.  Now he is actually quite gifted at 'try, try again' and 'practice makes perfect.' He is becoming a very good reader. He is one of the three kids to be in the top reading group in his class.  It is so neat to watch it all 'click' in his brain.

He of course still loves his video games and I am still amazed at how fast he figures out levels.  He is way better at them than I am and I am a bit embarrassed to say that I practice quite a bit!

And now introducing....... 'Quincey Bieber' ;)

Making Waves

Miss Aftyn is my little 'social butterfly.' She loves to wave at everyone.... I mean everyone. It is so fun to see how she loves to brighten days and bring smiles to faces. She has become a big distraction to those sitting around us in Sacrament meeting, because she sits and waves to them and smiles at them throughout the entire meeting. When we go grocery shopping I will look behind me and see everyone waving back at her. Her favorite thing is to find someone who is not looking at her and she will stare at them and wave at them until they notice her. In fact, I thought it was quite fitting when I was looking through some old pictures and I realized that she was a 'waver' even from the womb....

My exact quote from my post was that "The baby kept waving at us!  Hi Mom! Hi Dad!"

Here are a couple of Videos... I know, so rude of me to always interrupt her when she is trying to eat.

First Piggies!

I realized that I could put Aftyn's hair up for the first time yesterday. I think she looks so grown-up. These pictures also show how focused and serious she is when she watches TV. Very serious business!!!
