Baby Cousins
We were so blessed to be able to travel all the way up to Washington to and see my sisters 6 week old twin baby girls Audrey and Heidi. We got some pretty precious pictures of Maiya holding them.
27 weeks
So, It's my last week in the second trimester! All in all this pregnancy has gone by fast so far. But!!! I feel it starting to slow down. Mostly because of my aching back and inability to sleep. Other than that though... I feel good. We are all very excited for our new little one. I can see already that Maiya is going to be a big help. She is very interested in the baby and concerned for me. It's pretty sweet. While we were visiting some family, I was holding one of our baby nieces, and Maiya got this shocked look on her face and asked me, " Did your baby come out, Mom?" Oh my, I thought that was so crazy. I reassured her that indeed the baby was still in my belly and it wouldn't happen that fast or that easy. Several times since then she has clarified with me and made sure, " Your baby is still in your tummy Mom?" Yep! sure is. I can tell for sure because of the super strong karate kicks. This is one strong little baby.

Dancing Queen
Maiya officially started her dance class yesterday. It is a Ballet/Creative movement dance class for 45 minutes every Tuesday. She had a great time. And told us that she learned how to 'tip-toe, tip-toe' (she says it in a really cute kind of high pitched way, if you can imagine.
Little miss thing, showing off her ballerina moves.
I just thought this picture was cool because Quincey was caught jumping in the air.

Maiya is Three!
My baby girl turned 3 yesterday! She is such a fun little girl. She is very independent, she loves to wrestle her brother, and LOVES the color pink. She also loves to paint and color, which we do a lot of. Her most favorite thing to do though, is to take out all of the blankets and towels from the inn closet and puts them in a big pile on the floor (inside or outside) and "make a house." She then brings her babies, and other toys of choice and will sit there and chat with them.
We had so many friends come to her party on Friday night. We all had a great time. Here are some pics of present opening.
(for example...)
I was looking at cake ideas on the computer and she saw this pink pony cake and she fell in love with it. So, we had a great time making it. And when I asked her what her favorite part of her party was, she said, " My Pink Pony Cake!" We had so many friends come to her party on Friday night. We all had a great time. Here are some pics of present opening.
On Sunday morning (her actual birthday) Quincey and I got up and decorated with balloons and streamers. We also had birthday muffins, and she got to open some presents.
She loved wearing her new dress and jewelry to church.

19 week Ultrasound
I got an ultrasound done today, and it was really neat to see the baby! It always makes it a little more real when you can see the hands and feet and the cute little head. One thing we got to learn about our little one though is that he/she likes privacy! The baby kept it's arms around it's face and it's little legs closed the entire time, so we weren't able to find out the gender.
At first I was disappointed, I was looking forward to telling the kids and to help prepare them more for what's coming. But, we didn't find out with Quincey and I remember how much fun it was to find out the old fashioned way, so I guess a few more months won't kill us. Maybe I will have to go back for another ultrasound, and the baby will be be less private then.
Quincey and Maiya were very fascinated by the Ultrasound. And Quincey became really kind of giddy. He had a hard time not smiling and giggling and telling us how much he loves us. And when the tech put the heartbeat waves up on the screen, Quincey said, "And there is the babies sharp teeth!" I love how sweet he is. He has been taking care of me. Asking if the baby needs some water, or if the baby needs to rest.
