Wow! Thanks for the help!

We have been having a lot of problems with our satellite box so we received a new one and were instructed to call FED Ex to pick up our old one. The following is the conversation between me and the Fed Ex Guy.

Fed Ex Guy: How can I help you today?

Me: I need to schedule a pick up time.

Fed Ex Guy: Okay, we will schedule you for tomorrow. If you have a pen ready I can give you your pick-up number.

Me: okay, just a minute. (frantically searching for a pen and paper.)
Me: Okay, got it.

Fed Ex Guy: Okay, ma'am your pick-up number is.... 5

Me: Is that all? (thinking that it sure was a good thing I got that pen and paper to write that one down!)

Fed Ex Guy: Yes ma'am, your pick-up number is 5.

Me: Is it like a confirmation number?

F.E. G. : No, ma'am it is your pick-up number.

Me: ummm... okay, what will I need it for?

F.E.G. : Your Pick-up, ma'am.

Oh, Gee....That clears everything up... thanks Fed Ex Man!

Coupon Blog

I've started a Coupon Journal. I love to search all of the freebies and deals going on and decided to make a list of my favorites so that it is easier to keep track of.

More reasons to miss Utah....

Einstein Bros Bagels: Free bagel Fridays (Salt Lake City area only)

Images

Einstein Bros. Bagel shops in the Salt Lake City area (including Bountiful, Draper, Layton, Logan, Midvale, Ogden, Orem, Park City, Provo, Salt Lake City, and Sandy) are giving away free bagels every Friday until March 27, 2009.

I don't have any more details than this, but if you live in the Salt Lake City area, I'd definitely call your local Einstein Bros. to get more details.

Fire Damage

Just this past Christmas, my parent's house caught on fire. Apparently they had a candle burning on the piano and it set fire to a picture of Christ that they had hanging above it, and the picture fell behind the piano. Crazy thing to have happen on Christmas, huh?

They have been living in a rental home for the past month and will hopefully be able to move back in to their home on March 15th. Today was the first day I got to see these pictures. And I am so impressed with my family's attitude toward the whole thing. The way they talked about it, it was no big deal and just a great blessing to get fresh paint :) I am so glad that no one was hurt.

Safely gathered in

Geren and I have always found it to be an important goal to have a food storage to plan for the worse... ie. job loss, sicknesses, natural disasters etc.
This is a great website on food storage and self reliance in general.

Safely Gathered In

I especially enjoyed this post on how to plan your 3 month supply. This is a task that has seemed a little daunting. Like, how do you know how much you eat in 3 months? This post gives a step by step process that makes it seem doable.

Valentine's Party!

Our Ward had a v-day party. What a blast! Q had such a great time dancing to the music and playing with the balloons. And Geren and I shook our groove thangs' too. And the decorations were so beautiful! The theme was 'Bee Mine' so there were bees and black, yellow balloons. Pretty amazing.

Some random Pics.

I had a fun photo shoot of Q and M the other day, they sure seem to like each other. Quincey got to experience the magic of Olive Fingers!!! And he loves his new play-doh set that he got for his b-day.

Good Day

Today we went with the MOMS club and decorated cookies at a local nursing home. We gave some of the cookies and cards to the people there. It was great. It felt so nice to be able to cheer up those that live there. You could just see their eyes light up as they saw the young kids and babies. And Quincey kept running in circles around the place, but no one seemed to mind. It had been so long since I have been to a nursing home, and I was reminded of how easy it is to brighten someone's day, just by a smile.

Poor David

This video is hilarious. It is of a kid after the dentist.
