Taylor Swift meets Coldplay

I saw this on my friend Aubrey's blog, and I haven't been able to stop listening to it! I love it! Such a beautiful piano version of these songs.

Sunday, Sunday...

Here are a few pics from our relaxing day back home.

The Zoo

We went to the Zoo over the weekend. We also went to the Bio Park and the Aquarium.

Turtles!

Inside a pumpkin

Maiya was pooped! (That's for you Lillian)

Quincey and Geren... happy to have a rest on the train.

Polar Bears

This is a look a like picture. Not of Maiya and me, but of me and that bird picture behind me.

It was nice to have a weekend away. We had a lot of fun.

Knowing Enough!

Today in Relief Society we talked about the conference talk by Neil L. Andersen called, “You Know Enough,” The talk gives an example about how a missionary should not believe that they need to know everything in order to serve a mission and to proclaim the gospel, if we know God loves us, we know enough. If we listen to the Spirit, we will be able to accomplish what we need to with that power.

I listened to the lesson attentively and thought it was nice enough, but didn't get much out of it until I came home and was fixing lunch and I had the thought that I needed to apply that talk to parenting! Becoming a Parent, like becoming a missionary, is scary because you may feel overwhelmed by the responsibility or not prepared enough. It is good to remember that God is going to help fill in the blanks of the things that we don't know and the things that we do imperfectly.

It is easy to get overwhelmed by the millions of opinions out there. Especially when those opinions are viewed as fact by the opinion giver. That is why I found comfort in knowing that as long as I am trying to teach my children by the Spirit, I know enough.

April showers bring May flowers!

Me and the kids at the MOMS club Easter egg hunt.

Maiya is 8 months old, and is such a sweetie.

She loves to play with her feet.

Silly Quincey just randomly put this empty Huggies bag on his head, and thought he was pretty funny.

Another food post !!!! (and a challenge)

I have been accused of half my posts being about my kids, and half being about food!!! Well, that is awesome. Because I definitely love my kids, and I love food!

So here is another food recommendation:This Kashi frozen entree came as a big surprise to me... I didn't think I would enjoy it that much... but I did, Oh... I did. I had a free coupon for it (I think that deal is over, otherwise I would offer it to you...) and it was so good. I had the Lemongrass Coconut Chicken one. Here's the thing, they are about $3.00 a piece, so I was wondering if you could try it, and try to make a recipe that tastes like it and maybe not so expensive, and give me the recipe. (Lillian? up for a challenge?) Or maybe someone already has a recipe that tastes similar. I could put the veggies, chicken and sauce over rice and be just fine, I don't need the fancy shmansy 7 whole grains on a mission. Okay love you, bye.
