Civil Rights Journey

I saw this video, Civil Rights Journey on my friend Megan's blog, and was also very touched by it. I admire people who are go-getters. Who have the courage to take a stand for what they believe in, even when it can bring them harm. We really have come a long way in such a short time. I hope you are having a good Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

We're Back!

Sorry that I haven't been on in awhile. My internet has been down for like a week! But, I am back now! Now you'd think that I would have all sorts of things to report... hmmm.... Is my life really that uneventful?

I will just give you things to look forward to. Q's B-day is in one week! I can't believe my boy is turning two. I think I am going to be taking a try at making him a cool cake. You know, a cool one.

I guess I do have a couple of things to report... I got called into the nursery in my ward. (yep, Lorraine, you called it) I know, I guess they didn't think that I should EVER get to be away from my son. ;) No, but actually I am pretty excited. Geren has been really busy with his calling as Elder's Quorum President, so I am glad to be in a calling that is pretty much 'Sunday only'.

In other news... American Idol is back on! And I am loving every minute of it. My favorite so far is Jason Castro's brother. Go Castros!!!! And Lost starts again this week, so I am way pumped about that.

Maiya
has started to eat solids. Yes, I gave in, she started waking up more during the night to eat... so I thought it was time. She sleeps through the night again now, so YAY! She is getting pretty good at it. Quincey thinks it is the coolest thing too. He is always trying to give her his food while screaming, "MAIYA!"

Quincey is sure getting good with her, and not mauling her as much. They are becoming good friends.

Christmas!

We had a great Christmas. We just stayed at home and watched movies and played games. Very relaxing. It was especially nice because Quincey was so entertained the whole day long with all of his new toys.

Maiya and her new Cabbage Patch Doll

Maiya loves her new doll! Here she is playing with it.

Pre-Christmas Fun

Quincey helped me with the holiday baking Here we were making cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls... They were my first try and they turned out a hit! I only got to eat like one cinnamon roll, because my boys ate em up so fast. And Quincey has been lining up his cars in front of the Christmas tree, like he knows that there are supposed to be toys underneath. And of course, you can tell Miss Maiya is so excited for Christmas.
