***Warning: Picture Overload!****
Well, my Mario fan had his party today and it was a blast! I got a little carried away with this theme because it was surprisingly fun. And since stores don't carry Mario party stuff, creativity was called for!
I found these visors 3 for $1.00 at the dollar store and made them into Mario and Luigi hats. The blue one is 'ice mario' which happened to be Quincey's favorite. Then I made them little hand held mustaches. And the crowns were for the Princess Peaches in the house. |
Here are the goodie bags that the kids got to take home. |
The boxes were filled with toy coins and candy, and that mushroom is a pencil sharpener and eraser combo. |
Pin the mustache on Mario... I dusted off my artist skills and drew the Mario and Bowser posters. The kids helped me a little too! And now they are hanging in Quincey's room. |
These are yoshi eggs. I emptied out the egg, very carefully, filled it with confetti and the kids got to throw the yoshi eggs at Bowser! This was by far everyone's favorite game. They all wished that I would have made a hundred more eggs, but I insisted that I really do have a life! (not sure they believed me though.) |
This Bowser had no idea what was coming! |
We also played Shy Guy says, basically like Simon Says. When I held up a Shy Guy plate they had to do what I said, when I held up a regular guy plate, they didn't do it. If you are not sure what a Shy Guy is... this is a shy guy.

I made this bob-omb out of a flat old soccer ball that we had laying around. The kids passed it around like hot potato and then I would yell 'BOB-OMB!' And who ever was stuck with him would have to pretend to explode. The kids had a lot of fun exploding. |

Beautiful Maiya modeling a Mario mustache. |

Some of the crew all dressed up. :) |

Here is a close up on the Boo balloons. I made 20 of these! Good thing it is tax season, and I never see my husband anyways. ;) While we were waiting for others to show up, we played 'Keep Boo off the Ground.' |
This was a King Boo Balloon pop. We tied Boo to their ankles and the kids had to try to pop each others. The last man standing got to keep all of the coins that were inside the balloons. Amazing how kids get so excited about pennies. They think they are rich!

Fire Flower Fruit juice |
Ice Flower water |
The cake! After making all of those 1-up mushroom cupcakes, I was in no mood to make a cake, but no one makes Mario cakes around here! So, I improvised and had them make a 'Cars' design without the toys, and I added our own Mario and a flag that I found for $1.00 at Target. Perfect! |

The face that makes all of the hard work worth it! Happy 6th Birthday to our sweet Quincey. |
