Date Night

Well, I guess you could say I was feeling adventurous today, so I changed around my blog. I feel like a new person! Maybe I am!
So this weekend was a really great weekend. (Besides the busting open of heads that I mentioned earlier.) Geren and I had a sweet, sweet, wonderful friend offer to watch our kids so that we could go out on a date. We had a great date. We went to dinner at Red Lobster. This was my choice and I had an ulterior motive for this decision. I watched this past season of The Next Food Network Star and there was an episode where the contestants were competing with dishes on a wood grill. And the winner would have their dish featured on the Red Lobster menu. Ever since I saw that episode I have been so anxious to try his dish. And I was not disappointed!
This is the description of it on the menu:

Wood-Grilled Tilapia with Spicy Soy Broth
The winning recipe from The Next Food Network Star! Grilled, peppercorn-rubbed fresh tilapia over shrimp, sea scallops, asparagus, sweet peppers and a spicy soy shellfish broth.

So good!!! The highlight for me was the ginger on top. I would have loved that when I was pregnant with Quincey because I craved Ginger a lot. But I might just have to call up Jeffrey Saad (the creator) himself to ask for the recipe, because it was quite an expensive dish.
Okay, enough of that plug.... on to the next.

Afterward, we went to see Julie and Julia. I had to kind of do a little arm twisting to get G to see it with me. But he did and we both really enjoyed it! Although we both agreed it could have been about 30 minutes shorter, and it didn't flow the best. But, if you have read my blog for any amount of time you would know that I am not in any position to give advice on making things flow. The movie focuses quite a bit on marriage, which I loved. I feel like movies that focus on working on a marriage and that show marriage in a good light are hard to find, and this one does that! But then, I got home and researched the real Julie Powell a little more, and was disappointed by her very frequent usage of F words and swearing in general. Hmmm.... changes my sweet little Amy Adams vision of her. Anyway, I still love the movie.... it was enjoyable and quite funny, and has ignited a desire in myself to research more about Julia Child, and like many others I know, to own a pearl necklace.

Q's New Addition

I was changing Maiya's Diaper during the last 10 minutes of church yesterday, when I heard someone bring Quincey into the bathroom and he was crying hysterically. So, I picked Maiya up, without a diaper, to go see what was wrong. And then I gasped at the blood all over his face from a gash on his forehead!
He was running around in Nursery and apparently fell into a chair. We told him not to try and beat up the chair anymore, and he said, "Okay."
It was scary at the time, mostly because of all of the blood! But he is fine, and is quite proud of his battle wound.
