Lazy Fall Days...

Take that, Doctor!!!!

Yesterday we had doctor's appointments for both Quincey and Maiya... Yes, at the same time!!! Never again. We got there at 4 pm and were there until 6 pm! They were both hungry. They both got shots. Not fun.

Maiya was 75 % on weight and height and 50% for her little head.

Quincey was 75% height 25% on weight (hmmmm...... tall and skinny.... I wonder where he gets that from ;)) and only 90% for his head! (it used to always be off the charts).

Both are doing really well. The doctor asked how many words Quincey can say and I guessed around 50, but because I wasn't sure...and because the doctor didn't believe me, I made a list of his words and I did get to 50! (I stopped after that, because I proved the Doctor wrong ;)) So, here you go Grandma... here is the list. (For everyone else... permission is granted to skip)

Maiya's baby blessing

Maiya was blessed this weekend, and it was a very special time. My parents and my lil' sis, who live all the way in Iowa, got to be there along with my 3 sisters who live in Washington. Usually I have to go without my family being around because they all live so far, so it was really neat that they were able to make it. Not to mention Geren's parents, 2 of Geren's brothers and 1 of his siters and their families got to be there as well! Maiya wore the dress that my Grandma Bingham made for her. She made a dress for all for her granddaughters and even for her future Great granddaughters!

4th photo tag!

The Game: Post the 4th picture in the 4th folder of your "My pictures" folder & give its description.

This seems so long ago but really it was just back in August. This picture was taken right before Maiya was born. I am so glad she is here now! She is more fun outside of my belly.

This was fun, (thanks Carrie for tagging yourself) I tag anyone who wants to do this!

BYU Mint Brownies

I found this recipe in my BYU alumni email, and I am so excited to try it!!!

BYU Mint Brownies

BYU Brownie

MAKES ONE 9-BY-13 PAN OF BROWNIES.
PREP AND COOK: 90 min. COOL: 1 hr.

1 c. margarine
1/2 c. cocoa
2 Tbsp. honey
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
12 oz. chocolate icing (Use your own icing recipe or purchase some chocolate frosting. You can also search the Internet for chocolate icing recipes.)

MINT ICING

5 Tbsp. margarine
dash of salt
3 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
2 1/3 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. mint extract
1-2 drops green food coloring

1. Melt margarine and mix in cocoa. Allow to cool. Add honey, eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Add nuts. Pour batter into a greased 9-by-13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool.

2. Prepare mint icing: Soften margarine. Add salt, corn syrup, and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and fluffy. Add mint extract and food coloring. Mix. Add milk gradually until the consistency is a little thinner than cake frosting.

3. Spread mint icing over brownies. Place brownies in the freezer for a short time to stiffen the icing. Remove from the freezer and carefully add a layer of chocolate icing.
